Steelehouse Status

  1. Little Miracle: helping a cause

    Little Miracle

Newly minted NFL quarterback Brandon Weeden is more than football. Inspired by Gavin Kuykendal and his parents, Brandon formed a charity to raise awareness and improve the medical outlook for Oklahoma’s children with severe heart defects. We were privileged to capture the story of Gavin to illustrate why this cause is so important.

  2. Mark Steele Achieves Important Milestone

Steele has functioned as the Chief of Creative Affairs for the VeggieTales franchise for that last three years. The latest release developed and penned by Steele is The League of Incredible Vegetables. It serves up the superhero genre veggie-style. As the creator and voice of Dr. Flurry, Steele has also achieved an important personal goal. He now has his own action-figure! When asked whether the unflattering body shape, absence of articulated limbs, and villainy dampened his enthusiasm, Steele’s only response was a cold stare. He then grabbed his toy and went home.

  3. PAC-MAN Passes 1.5 Million Views

Since premiering PAC-MAN The Movie (Fan Film) on April 5, 2012, Steelehouse’s little “spec project” has been viewed over a million and a half times on YouTube and Vimeo. Not to mention it’s eaten up quite a bit of the blogosphere. We are very proud of this short film and have been blown away by the overwhelmingly positive response from fans and film industry professionals. Watch the film in its entirety on YouTube and be sure to check out the Behind the Scenes of making PAC-MAN as well. Here are just a few reactions to PAC-MAN The Movie:

DVICE (SyFy’s tech blog): “As an old school Pac-Man (and Mrs. Pac-Man) hardcore fan, this is probably the most excited I’ve been about the game in a very long time…This isn’t just a cool idea, it’s a brilliant movie franchise waiting to happen.”

Entertainment Weekly: “Bringing Pac-Man to cinematic life has been done before, but this new iteration is surprisingly compelling and socially relevant…”

Kotaku: “This may be the only way a live-action Pac-Man movie could ever work.”
