With a shiny new degree in Film and Video Studies from the University of Oklahoma, Jason Behrman wanted to get started Sooner rather than later and immediately heeded the call to go West. He began his career working as a temp at the 20th Century Fox Studios. Experience and relationship building eventually landed him a job working with director Betty Thomas where he assisted in the development of her production shingle, Tall Trees Productions. Jason worked in various production roles with Mrs. Thomas and Tall Trees on such notable features as Dr. Dolittle, Can’t Hardly Wait, 28 Days, and Charlie’s Angels.
Eventually it was time to stake his own claim, first co-founding Revel Entertainment and then later Highway 9 Films, Jason has produced several independent features including Dog Days of Summer, Magdalena, Wasted, and Bobby Jones Stroke of Genius. Additional production experience includes several documentary and short film projects for various corporate and non-profit organizations with hands on experience in nearly every key role in the production and post production process.
Jason moved his family and current shingle, Highway 9 Films to Tulsa, Oklahoma in 2004 to be near loved ones and away from the millions of people he doesn’t know who clog the freeways of Southern California. A long time collaborator with Steelehouse over the years, Jason’s experience in digital media and all aspects of production makes him a valuable asset as the General Manager of Steelehouse Digital. Jason and the Steelehouse Digital team are developing original content for clients as well as original live-action and animation properties to be distributed through YouTube and other channels for digital media.
