A Virtual Reality Experience


This year, Steelehouse would like to show you Christmas from a new perspective. We’ve created a virtual Christmas card experience! There are two ways to enjoy this experience – on your smartphone or computer OR with a Google Cardboard viewer.


Mobile Device and Computer Instructions

Anyone can view the 360° video following the steps below.



Mobile users need to install the YouTube app from the Google Play store or App Store prior to viewing the video to enable 360° viewing.

On mobile, physically move your device to change perspective. Computer viewers can watch the 360° video on YouTube*, and change the perspective by clicking and dragging within the video. We recommend viewing on your mobile device.

Please select the highest quality video setting for the best viewing experience.

**Mobile device users, be sure to view in the YouTube app to experience in 360°.


Google Cardboard Instructions

Follow the steps below to use a Google Cardboard viewer with your smartphone's platform.



First, assemble your Google Cardboard, then follow the steps below for your specific smartphone platform. If you need help assembling the unit, please watch this instructional video.


iOS + Google Cardboard
  1. 1. Install VRIDEO from the App Store and launch the app.
  2. 2. Use the search function in the top right corner and type “Steelehouse Christmas Card 2015”.
  3. 3. Choose the video and tap the gear icon and select the highest option available. (Faster WiFi or data connection preferred.)
  4. 4. Next, select the eye icon, then choose “Continue in VR”.
  5. 5. Before inserting your phone into the Cardboard viewer, you’ll need to “press play”. With your phone in landscape orientation, tilt up until you see the video thumbnail. Position the crosshairs over the image and tap the screen.
  6. 6. Insert your phone into your assembled Cardboard and don’t forget to turn up the volume and take your phone off vibrate mode. If you see black, be patient and look around until you see the text.
  7. 7. Enjoy!
Android + Google Cardboard
  • 1. Install the YouTube app from the Google Play store.
  • 2. Use this link or search “Steelehouse Christmas Card 2015” in the YouTube app to choose the video.
  • 3. Tap the three vertical dots in the top right and select “Quality” and set it to the highest option available. (Faster WiFi or data connection preferred.)
  • 4. Tap the Google Cardboard icon in the bottom right portion of the screen.
  • 5. Press play before inserting your phone into the Cardboard viewer.
  • 6. Insert your phone into your assembled Cardboard and don’t forget to turn up the volume and take your phone off vibrate. If you see black, be patient and look around until you see the text.
